A half-day on the knitting floor at Umargaon, Gujarat. You’ll see the yarn arrive, the jacquard machines run, and the pairs come off the linker. It is loud, it is hot, and it is the most interesting room we have.
You arrive mid-morning and leave mid-afternoon. Someone from the floor walks you through knitting, linking, washing and finishing, and you can ask anything you like.
The entry fee is per person and covers the visit itself and a hot lunch, eaten with the floor team rather than apart from them. Travel and accommodation are yours to arrange. We are not a tour operator.
Six people to a date, so everyone can hear over the machines and everyone gets a seat at lunch. If you want to bring more people than a date allows, write to us and we’ll open another.
